Total
Petroleum Hydrocarbons In Soil The RemediAidTM patented test kit offers greater flexibility than existing portable systems and shows good correlation with the standard infra-red method. The RemediAidTM kit is ideally suited for use in soil-remediation surveys, as well as testing for spillage and leakage from petroleum refineries, petroleum stations, leaking underground storage tanks (USTs), or wherever petroleum hydrocarbon contamination is an issue. |

The
RemediAidTM
kit will determine Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons across a wide range of
soil types and petroleum products, so it is ideal for use in the field.
The system enables the user to run 10 tests concurrently, providing the
potential to run 25 tests in one hour. RemediAidTM
can also be calibrated to measure quantitative amounts of specific petroleum
products including: BTEX, PAH, diesel fuel, leaded and unleaded gasoline,
weathered gasoline, brent crude, and lubricating oil.
Ranges
(Expected dynamic range of the test in soil sample matrix. (The instructions
include dilution procedures, if an extended range is required.)) : The design of the system ensures that operator contact with reagents is kept to an absolute minimum, so it is very safe. The absence of pipetting skills or measuring flasks is not a problem because RemediAidTM comes complete with specially designed ampoules and pre-measured reagents, so it is also very easy to use. The test is based upon the Friedel-Crafts reaction, but with one fundamental difference-the intermediate remains in the solvent, which allows the colorimetric analysis of the sample to take place. Other systems and methods rely on the comparison with a color chart to give semi-quantitative results, or the measurement of turbidity in the final solution. The use of a colorimetric end-point means RemediAidTM can be calibrated to determine various types of specific fractions, as well as allowing Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons to be screened. The system provides a quicker alternative to the standard laboratory method-which is both costly and labor intensive-because only the contaminated samples need to be sent to the laboratory for confirmatory testing. Faster decisions can be made during site investigations and site remediation, because RemediAidTM eliminates delays between sampling and sample analysis. The simplicity and convenience of the system enables a more comprehensive survey of the site to be conducted because of the speed in which samples can be analyzed and processed. Complete Kit, including photometer,
electronic balance, timer, instructions and reagents for conducting eight
(8) tests, US$875.90.
